Green Lane Scottish-Irish Festival....Click Here.... Hi All, Have you heard the "GOOD NEWS"? Last week at the Township Supervisors meeting, Mr. O'Donnell read the following message about the bridge mentioned below: "The Upper Salford Township Supervisors are pleased to announce that we have reached a cooperative agreement with Montgomery County Commissioners to proceed with opening of Salford Station Road at the old wooden bridge. We plan to advertise, requesting proposals to build a structure to carry Salford Station Road over the Perkiomen Trail. The structure will maintain the separation of the existing road and the trail. We plan to review proposals in the early fall, with construction during the winter months and completion by Spring of 2011. During construction, a trail detour will be provided, specifics of that will be worked out with Montgomery County." This is indeed good news! I would like to thank everyone for your continued support with helping to keep this issue in front of our Township Supervisors and our Montgomery County Commissioners. Sounds like the County Commissioners will be helping our township with this project. I have personally thanked Mr. O'Donnell for his continued support. I plan to also thank our County Commissioners. Looks like these things take time, but all of our efforts were worth it. As additional information is announced, I will pass it along to you. I have also read in "The Reporter" that the Spring Mount Bridge is scheduled to be opened in late October, as planned. Two bridges down, one more to go! Thanks again!
